When will revised scoring system (no SR) take effect?
Players should know in advance what scoring rules will be for current month.

reply
It certainly will not happen until the Facebook program is up and running. Notice will be posted A.S.A.P. for players.

if u check the records, b4 S.R. was brought in to play, you had to play about 100 gms. to win a month, S.R. makes it tougher to win a month, it also gives u the chance to make top ten if u don't have the time to play a lot, and give new card players some credit, in this world of online games, the S.R. rule is not that confusing.

Thanks for the input. What you say is generally true but back then it was so much easier to play games than it is now. With so few able to host overall play of games is way down. In any case I'd like to start off in Facebook games with POINTS only and see how large a player base we can build up. If we can amass a large number of players it is still possible that S.R. could be brought back into the scoring system.

just are look for a way to make it easier for them. It don't matter what rules or scoring you have, I well find a way to win, the best rules and scoring are always the simplest. use the kiss rule.

I understand proposed new scoring system will eliminate SR. So if player 1 plays 40 games and gets 40 pts he/she is rated lower than say player 2 who plays 80 games and gets 41 pts.
Seems out of whack.
I think eliminating SR or using some other option is a mistake.

I understand your thinking. That's why I implemented S.R. in the first place. However my thinking has changed with experience. I just looked at the current scores and randomly checked players who have completed 29-35 games so far. Here are the results:
mphenix........29 gms......27 points
niksagkram....31 gms......16 pts
kalea.............29 gms......13 pts
wiggins..........29 gms......01 pts
weiz..............35 gms.......-6 pts
Lte Too Tall....35 gms.......-25 pts

It is clear to me that the number of games played is no indicator of total score.
*RE: your example: I have come to believe that it is no easier to get 41 points in 80 games than it is to get 40 points in 40 games.

The Jan results are shown on the home page.
The top 15 players are shown in order.
Below I have listed in order from 1-15 the number of games each player completed.

62, 56, 40, 40, 51, 44, 60, 44, 47, 72, 47, 80, 43, 77, 42
The 12th and 14th ranked players completed 80 and 77 games respectively. Although they were among the best players they were outpointed by players who played half as many games.?

I feel a 40 game limit is good.. And no S.R.
Only player's with 40 games or more should be entitled to Master Points (one of the first 10 seats) in the Top 10 Tournament.. All Player's with 40 or more games and less points than the first 10 will have a spot on the Monthly Top 10 Tournament.. If there is not enough player's to fill the 25 seats, the highest scoring player's with lower then 40 games can be asked to play in the Top 10 Tournament by invitation only.. If a player is asked to play in the Top 10 Tournament and has less then 40 games and ins up in one of the top 10 seats that player will not receive any Master Points, unless that Player wins the Top 10 Tournament for that month, and will receive Master Points according to the number of Registered player's
