Spanish CCCJ card club

Since 1987, a group of card enthusiasts in Spain have come together on a regular basis to keep alive, the playing of upwards of 40 different card games. In summer 2020 this wizardcards.com website was fortunate to have that group join us because of Ken Fisher and all of his good works on behalf of the card game we all know and love.

Some of us have since joined the CCCJ club by paying the 1 euro per month dues (tariff) and then have been able to spend time with the members of the group in 2022 (at the 35th anniversary celebration) and in 2023, 2024 and 2025--- culminating this past week in attendance at the Wizard World Championship (won by Mario Phenix, a dues paying member of CCCJ) and then the International Wizard Championship (won by Debi Arnoni, also a dues paying member of CCCJ). We also play in wizard tournaments on line here, beyond the tournaments open to everyone, as periodically there are "CCCJ only" tournaments. Starting this year there are also "rankings" of CCCJ members based on the points accumulated in each of the wizard versions here on the site-- regular, magic, Camelot and German--- and those rankings have NO MINIMUM NUMBER OF GAMES PLAYED.

In Fall 2027 it is anticipated that for the 40th anniversary of the formation of the club, an extravaganza like happend in 2022 will occur--- there are pictures and stories that can be shared about that 4 DAY EVENT held at a CASTLE IN SPAIN FROM THE 16th CENTURY, if anyone is interested.

In any case, Carles Rodon (carles1963) and Jordi Marza Brillas (Elvelus) are instrumental (among others) in moving the club forward and planning events and so I STRONGLY encourage anyone who would like to join CCCJ chat with them if you see them in a game or send them a U2U message. Anyone can also direct questions to me (verona Tim Burton) as Jordi has designated me as an "ambassador" of CCCJ. There are already many members from Canada and the USA, along with at least one from each of the UK and Poland. It is a VERY WELCOMING CLUB with wonderful and friendly people, some of whom have even hosted some of us in their homes when we are in Spain.

The club is very proud of how well its members performed at the recent tournaments and looks forward to having more members to share a wonderful time with potentially in Fall 2027.
